HHE Travels: Chicago Engagement Weekend!

Lifestyle

Happy Friday, Lovelies!

I am so excited to share with you what I was up to last weekend in Chicago!! One of the things I love about my job is the amazing relationships I am able to build with my couples and that they trust me to do long distance planning for their weddings. It’s not often that I get the opportunity to go visit them, so last weekend was a special treat.

Katharyne and I took a trip to Chicago to visit Katie and Matt to take their engagement pictures. After getting our deep dish fix Friday night, we turned in to prepare for an early morning for photos on Saturday. Not having ever lived in a large city, I am always in awe of the beautiful sights, especially with the sunrise. One of my favorite things is the peace of the morning and experiencing that from the platform of the L-station, looking out at Wrigley field was such an awesome start to a great day!

Once we met up with K &M, we headed down to the Planetarium for pictures. Since we got up bright and early, we were only accompanied by a few runners and the birds. Looking back at the city was so majestic and the perfect backdrop for engagement photos! Y’all know I love the water, so I was so content and happy to watch and assist where needed as Katharyne captured Katie and Matt’s love and inspired some laughs.

After that, we trekked over to downtown and took some pictures in K & M’s office, where they met! Working for a software company equates to an awesome office space. We had so much fun hanging out and indulging in our delicious Do-Rite Donuts. Yum!! One of my other favorite stops was the French Market. It’s a farmer’s market meets food truck row with other fun goodies thrown in. Of course, I had to get a few macarons and gorgeous chocolate treats from Lolly & Pop to bring home for AJP!

After we wrapped photos, it was so nice to just enjoy time chatting and getting our scenic tour (ie. walk workout) through downtown. We then met up with some friends for amazing sushi and finished the weekend off with an awesome waffle breakfast. Can you tell we love culinary treats?!?

Yes, we did a lot of fun things, but my favorite thing about last weekend was the fellowship and gift of being  let into K & M’s life a little bit more. They are such amazing people and so very gracious. I cannot wait for their wedding at the end of August!!

This weekend, we are off to my sister-in-law’s college graduation and spending lots of family time with Mother’s Day on Sunday, too. I hope you enjoy your weekend and spend it showering your mamas with love!

xoxo, Jenn
