Meet the Couple | Amanda & Zack

Lifestyle

Last week we looked at their wedding inspiration and today, I am so excited to introduce you to another of our amazing couples — Amanda & Zack! These two became an HHE couple by way of my Dad recommending me to her mother. Let me tell you, it was kismet. Since our first conversation, this experience has felt like a big hug and new friendships are blossoming. Instead of me boring you with my gushing description of them and their amazing hearts, I have asked them to share with you.

How did you meet?

We met in our Army class junior year of college. After class Zack would walk me to my next class, after a couple times he finally asked me to lunch!

When did you know that he was going to be your husband?

While we were apart for a few months our first summer together. It was very difficult to be apart for the first time in our relationship, but I had never felt closer to him.

When did you know she was going to be your wife?

Probably after our first summer apart. We came back together after barely seeing each other for months and we were still so in love.

What excites you about marriage?

Z: Through all the twists and turns that our life is about to make, we will always have each other.

A: Through all of our moves and service in the military, I know that he will always support me and our family. He is someone I will always be able to count on when I need him.

Describe your wedding in three words.

Z: In an aquarium; A: Unique, fun, family

What is your favorite source of wedding inspiration?

Z: Her; A: My wedding planner Jennifer, I would be lost without her 🙂

What is your favorite part about wedding planning? The least?

Z: Seeing her get really excited. Pretty much everything else.

A: Getting to imagine our wedding as it comes together. Every time we make a decision, I get more excited! The stress of managing a lot of people and decisions while working and being away from Zack has been my least favorite.

What are you most looking forward to about your wedding day?

Z: Being married to Amanda;

A: Celebrating with my best friends, family, and of course Zack. Also, looking absolutely amazing in my dress 🙂

Are you taking a honeymoon? If so, where and what made you choose that destination?

Yes, we are going to Hawaii. It seemed the right combination of exotic and convenient — it has city, beaches, and lots of nature while being convenient to travel to!

Do you have any advice for engaged couples?

Z: Think about the other person whenever you make a decision- because now you’re making them for more than yourself

A: While planning your wedding remember to also plan for marriage! Make sure you take the time to complete wedding counseling. Zack and I learned even more about each other and really enjoyed it!

What’s next for the two of you after “I Do”?

Z: I will be going to start my Army career at Fort Stewart, GA. Amanda will begin her first of a few schools to become an Army MEDEVAC pilot.

A: After we get back from Hawaii I am heading to Ft Sam Houston in San Antonio for two months to complete Medical Service Basic Officer Leadership Course (BOLC) in the Army. Immediately following my graduation from BOLC, I am moving to Ft Rucker, AL to begin flight school, where I will learn to fly the Blackhawk Helicopter! Zack is moving to Ft Stewart, GA to begin his Army career in the 92nd Engineering Battalion!

How sweet and in love are they!? In all seriousness, their relationship is so inspiring. They have this beautiful mutual respect and truly find joy in each other’s happiness. In addition to that, I can tell you that they love their friends and family fiercely and have hearts of service. Each time we welcome another couple and family into our family, I am in awe of how blessed we are by them! Stay tuned on stories for behind the scenes and here for more on their beautiful marriage!

xoxo, Jenn
