Sweet Dallas Elopement: Genevieve & Brandon

Celebrations

“A guy and a girl can be just friends, but at one point or another, they will fall for each other…Maybe temporarily, maybe at the wrong time, maybe too late, or maybe forever”

Five years ago, I met the sweetest friend and have seen her love, embark on adventures, and go through trials. Then, three years ago, she told me about this man that she was seeing and I had an inkling that he could be the one for her. Well, on December 12, 2015, I was honored and humbled to play a small role in their meaningful and intimate elopement.

As Gen asked me to help her pull together the details, the thought she and B had put into everything was so them and melted my heart. Not only did they have custom pieces made, but their personal touches were so perfect. Genevieve had photos of her parents, a family broach and the most beautiful locket that Brandon gifted her the night before their wedding. Brandon carried one of his Dad’s Army Division coins and wore custom cufflinks that Genevieve gifted to him.

Gen’s bouquet was my first foray making a bridal bouquet and I loved every minute of it. Y’all might start seeing more of that in the next year or two! But really, it was such a joy to be creative in a new way and I was elated to create something that I knew she would love.

Not only was their dessert homemade that morning, but has the most amazing story. Their relationship was long distance for the first year and every time they met up, the shared a homemade Sweet Potato Pie. That being the case, it was only fitting that they shared that as their wedding dessert with a side of warm mulled cider on a chilly December afternoon!

Genevieve is a letterer and artist, so the personal “I Do, Me Too” mugs were the perfect touch and mementos I know they will cherish in years to come. The cake forks were lying around our apartment waiting for the perfect couple to gift them to and I’m so glad it was Genevieve and Brandon!

G&B, thank you from the bottom of my heart, and my mother’s, for trusting us to play such a precious role in your journey as you started on this new adventure. I cannot wait to see what the coming years have in store for you and I pray that we are able to witness it as your friends for years to come. I love you both dearly. Cheers!

xoxo, Jenn
