How is another Monday upon us already!? As fall season picks up, many of us are on the go more and more and traveling for our wonderful clients. That means that we need to plan ahead and even work ahead in order to focus our full attention on the events of the week. I’m sure many of you already have a fine tuned process of your own. For those of you who do not, today’s tips will hopefully help you be less stressed when you are not in your office.
Set an Auto-Responder: Whether it’s a busy season or not, I highly recommend having an auto-responder in your email. Especially for those of you who have a side hustle, it works for you! I set mine for a few months at a time and update it as part of my duty days. It allows anyone who emails me to know that I received their message, redirects them to the blog and other information, as well as including my upcoming out of office days. I have found that the immediate reply and confirmation reassures my clients that I have indeed received their message and has cut down on follow up. I also include that I will reply to their message within two business days.
Pre-blog: Again, let things work for you! Just because you aren’t in the office, doesn’t mean that you have to go radio silent OR that you have to be on your phone constantly posting things. Plan ahead to be away from your laptop, friends. Block schedule a day or two to write posts for the full time you are otherwise occupied with your weddings, meetings, or travel.
Schedule Social Media: Once your posts are written and scheduled, don’t forget about sharing them. I push my blog posts to Facebook via a widget on my blog. For Instagram, I use Later to preschedule those posts. You can even preview what your feed will look like and store images ahead of time for future use. It is a set it and leave it option, which is great for me! Best of all, it’s free for up to 30 posts per month.
Even when you aren’t in the office, you can still be visible in ways that connect with your tribe and clients. By setting all of these things up ahead of time, it allows you to truly be present and focus all of your energies to the tasks at hand, while still being connected.
Do you have any other tips that work for you when you have busy seasons?
xoxo, Jenn
