June Goals:

Lifestyle

Happy Summer, Lovelies! Can you believe that June has arrived already?! This time of year holds so many sweet memories for me of moves, family vacations and precious adventures with friends. While summers look a bit different these days, I still cannot wait to make amazing things happen and enjoy everything this season has to offer.

June-Goals

May Recap: The focus was community and let me tell you- it was amazing. One of my favorite things is spending time face to face with people. I was able to spend a lot of quality time with family and friends, as well as face time with my family in Dallas. There is no substitute, I tell you! Also, a sweet coffee date with some friends has resulted in the  beginning of a beautiful community of Tuesdays Together for Central Iowa! Next Tuesday, June 9, we will have our first gathering for creatives, weekend warriors and small business owners to come together for community over competition and fellowship. My heart is on fire for this and I hope that any of you in the Corridor who are able, will join us. I cannot wait to hug each one of you!!

Coming up in June: I spent longer than usual putting together this month’s goals. The past few months, I have felt like a hamster and like my mind spins fifty million times faster than my body can do. Let me tell you, that is overwhelming. So, for June, I am breaking it down – way down- into baby steps. Progress, not perfection, right? Here are a few things I will be focusing on for June:

  • Last year, I set out to read the Bible cover to cover. While I read the New Testament, I did not complete the whole thing. So, this year, the goal is to finish reading the Old Testament by the end of the year. In order to make that happen, I will read one or two chapters everyday.
  • Start a food journal to work toward healthy eating. Keeping myself accountable and seeing what I consume is bound to jar me into action.
  • With all of the amazing clients I have and projects going on behind the scenes, it gets overwhelming fast. Guess what falls by the wayside? I am now committing 30 minutes each weekday to working on HHE projects, in addition to making beautiful weddings happen.
  • In addition to that, I have not been keeping up with my blog schedule I set for myself. In order to hopefully improve that, I am going to focus on pre-blogging a week or two ahead of schedule. That means a minimum of 3 posts scheduled ahead of time.
  • I have let time for myself and committed brainstorming to fall through the cracks the past few months. In order for me to better serve those around me and be my best self, I will be scheduling one day each week to creative me time. This can take on many forms: reading, painting, calligraphy, creative field trips, brainstorming and more.
  • Lastly, in order to stay more on top of things in an organized way, I will move from bi-weekly to weekly Duty Days (look for a post on that soon!). This will help me prepare for each week before it starts and to stay on task. Also, I won’t have to wonder what needs to be accomplished or how I will fit it in. I will now be able to block schedule the entire week, instead of each day, to set myself up for success!

Are any of you struggling with similar things and looking for encouragement and/or an accountability partner? If so, please let me know. I would love to connect and encourage you in your goals!

xoxo, Jenn
