It was almost like a distant family reunion. A time capsule of the old neighborhood from 13 years ago, plus a ton of amazing new friends. This weekend’s festivities for Amanda and Michael made it one for the books.

It started off with my mom, daddy and sister coming into town late Thursday. We have not seen each there since Christmas, so this whole event and time has been truly a gift! Not only did we witness these two inspiring lovebirds commit their lives to each other, but we made new friends, caught up with their families and made so many new memories!

I have been blessed to know the Vester family since we moved to Iowa many years ago and to watch Amanda grow into the beautiful woman she is. She and Mike come from two of the most loving, fun and wonderful families. So, it was no surprise that they attract some of the most genuine, hilarious, warm and entertaining people around. It was such an honor to share their weekend with them!

I know that photos were flowing on social media this weekend, so I will only share a few here (forgive me, they are all iPhone images). AJP and I were so grateful to be guests at their celebration and to share it with my family, in from Dallas!

This beautiful cake was handmade with love by Aunt Donna and she did an amazing job! It was delicious and even had a little ‘teacup’ pig hidden on the back for Amanda. 

I won’t bore you with the many, many fun and goofy selfies that were had by all throughout the weekend, but suffice it to say that we made enough memories to tide us over for a while. Brunch on Sunday had us all  laughing and crying happy tears and telling great stories as we wished the beautiful couple well on their honeymoon in Cancun!
