Kaitlyn & Jonathan | Feminine Timeless Summer Wedding

Celebrations

It was a warm summer day in June that welcomed us with showers throughout the morning, only to have the clouds clear in orchestrated time for K & J’s ceremony. This summer wedding was full of pinks and sage greens, personal details, feminine textures and timeless elegance. Don’t worry, we had a few rustic and fun surprises sprinkled in, too!

When Kaitlyn and her mom Betsy reached out to me early this year to help execute and style Kaitlyn & Jonathan’s marriage day, I could tell right away that we were a great fit! Kaitlyn is a pink loving bride with fun style and a huge heart who wanted something uniquely theirs. Yes, please! We had countless lunch dates at Corner Bakery, more laughs than should be allowed and got down to the details that really mattered.

Kaitlyn is a high school English teacher and Jonathan owns a landscaping business. Between her love of pink and his profession, a color palette of pink and sage made so much sense. Of course, they are also incredibly laid back and wanted an atmosphere that felt both elegant and relaxed. Five Oaks Farm was the absolute perfect fit for that!

We carried their story into their wedding favors, as seed packets to commemorate the day. Though many others have done this, too, it is an ode to Jonathan’s job and their love of the simple things in life.

You have seen many a legacy table the past few years, I am sure. K & J’s is definitely my favorite legacy display to date. We were able to use this beautiful hutch from the Farm and showcase so many beautiful family heirlooms and photographs from both sides. Kaitlyn’s grandmother’s tiara from her wedding day and Jonathan’s parent’s cake topper we my favorites.

Like I mentioned, the rain cleared up and the sun came out just in time to dry out the beautiful ceremony space under the oak tree. It was such a romantic spot for their commitment to each other, as well as portraits!

Toward the end of the day, we had the best surprise for Jonathan. He’s not a big cake person, so we surprised him with an ice cream truck! His reaction was fantastic and the guests really enjoyed ice cream on the lawn on a hot summer evening.

Special thanks to my sister and Kristen for helping me execute this beautiful wedding almost six months pregnant. I couldn’t have done it without them!

Congrats Jonathan and Kaitlyn!

xoxo, Jenn
