I have always been enamored with the legacy of photographs. As a child, I would pour over albums on the living room floor and imagine what it must have been like in those moments. I want our children and grandchildren to do the same with photos we leave behind. So, capturing important milestones in our life and marriage is so important. In early September, we had the honor of having Liz Novi capture our maternity session at White Rock Lake! It also doubled as our five year anniversary session, which was such a lovely coincidence.
We met Liz out at the lake on a cool Saturday evening. The breeze was so refreshing and it felt like a hint of fall in Texas. Like most men, Adam is not a huge fan of photo sessions. However, he had a wonderful time. Liz made the entire session easy and fun! We love these images and are so grateful to have them to share for generations to come.
I have to admit that I have had a hard time adjusting to this new body of mine, despite the beautiful miracle that pregnancy is. Even under normal circumstances, it is rare for me to get dolled up and feel super confident. While we were shooting, between Adam and Liz, they both made me feel so confident and beautiful. You can imagine when we got the gallery back, I was even more excited!
I cannot believe that we are just a week or so away from meeting this precious gift and that these are technically our first family photos. Savoring these moments is something I will never tire of. I am beyond grateful to have had Liz capture this season of our life. The season right before everything changes. The last season just the two of us. There is something so beautifully bittersweet about that, but I would not have it any other way. Thank you, Liz, and we cannot wait to have our newborn session so soon!
xoxo, Jenn
