I am not in this business simply for the pretty things and beautiful beginnings, from a physical standpoint. Though it is a bonus to be surrounded by those things. This HHE engine is fueled by something much deeper that took root when I was a child.

Marriage and love can absolutely change this world. It’s like a ripple effect. When we love each other and shine that light to others as an example, others see what true, deep, honest and raw love looks like and they start believing that it exists. That magical unicorn that is love worth fighting for – it’s real!

I’ve told this story before, but it warrants being told again. When I was in elementary school, one of the many summers spent in Charleston with my MawMaw and PawPaw, I stumbled across their wedding album. I’d seen weddings on TV and always thought they were pretty and that marriage was just something you did when you grow up. That sunny afternoon, sprawled out on that blue carpet, sun streaming through the windows, MawMaw told me all about their wedding and the marriage and life they’d had since. As we were flipping through the fifteen pages of images they had to remember their day by, the stories and memories that had grown from that one day filled my heart with longing. Longing for the day that I would find that kind of love. The day that I would find my husband and we would build a life like that, that I am proud to tell our grand babies about someday.

That day, marriage became so much more to me than a pretty dress and a party. This calling of mine to serve my couples on their journey to their next chapter is one that I do not take lightly. Every couple I work with, I envision them telling their grandchildren about this day in years to come. We aren’t just designing pretty tables and flowers, we are designing memories for generations to come.

That, my loves, is why I love what I do. That is why I pour my heart and soul into every, single design and piece of the experience that our couples have. Love is the greatest gift in this world and if I can show my brides, grooms and their families just a glimmer of the vast love of our Father, then that is what I am going to do.
